ReVisitor development in progress...
ReVisitor WiMap is a software suite for generation of 3D information, such as digital surface models and 3D city models. A variety of different data sources, including aerial images and lidar (light detection and ranging, laser scanning), can be used.
ReVisitor WiMap currently consists of the modules:
- WiMap BM - Building Modeler. Automatically generates virtual 3D buildings from LiDAR data and (optionally) aerial imagery. (Presentation at 3D GIS seminar, Stockholm, 2009.)
- WiMap W2S - Wireframe to surface conversion. Generates closed surfaces from vector data.
A few mile stones from the blog:
| 2009-07-28 | I have develop a region growing algorithm. There are some issues still, but most of it is there. I plan to use this to bridge homogeneous areas for DSM generation, but also for building reconstruction from aerial and remote sensing images.

| 2009-07-02 | Delivered two sample DSM:s to Metria for quality assessment. One of them was this one:

| 2009-06-24 | Yet a milestone in the development of the DSM generator! After yesterdays work on mutual preference, the quality of the DSM:s has improved significantly. There are still a number of features I will reimplement from my YARD DSM generator, but already now the results are quite ok. Matching is still time consuming because of the transformations, but a simple optimization today reduced the execution time to less than half the time (from 3 min 56 sec to 1 min 42 sec for a coarse DSM)!
