Download Metria CityModeler Version 6.9 here.
This section describes changes compared to Version 5.7
New Features
- The height of the building is now optionally shown in the building polygons (Ticket 80).
- Zooming can now be centered around a specific point (Ticket 16).
- The control panel is now to the left for easier access since the primary image is to the left in vertical mode. (Ticket 81).
- The file name of each image is (optionally) displayed in the images windows (Ticket 82).
- The color of the bottom object can now be set (Ticket 85).
- The transparency (alpha channel) of filled polygons can now be set (Ticket 87).
- Zooming to a specific level is enabled (Ticket 88).
- The vertical lines connecting bottom and roof are now shown. (Ticket 97)
- WiMap PanSharp has been included in Metria CityModeler for panchromatic sharpening (see separate help section).
- Image files larger than 4 Gb can be handled by using the BigTIFF library. (Ticket 104)
- Building parts on top of roofs can be efficiently measured. (Ticket 100).
- Image location can now be shown in Google Maps.
- A new image cache design has been implemented. All images share a global primary memory pool. The size of the memory pool is defined by the user.
- Logging can now be started from command line.
- The control panel can be hidden to enlarge the image view area.
- Show/hide control panel and second image functions have keyboard shortcuts
and are included in the Project menu.
- Online help published on internet can now be accessed from the help menu
when a project is open.
- The heights of buildings are saved in Google Earth KMZ files.
- Added support for the Eros sensor. (Ticket 145)
- The location of the log file can be chosen by the user. (Ticket 142)
- Object properties can be shown both as a list for all object and
as a table for selected object (Ticket 150)
- Cache size can be chosen when MCM is started so that it is used in pan sharpening
and DSM generation. (Ticket 151)
- Height is saved as attribute in Shape file. (Ticket 140)
Fixed Defects
- Interior polygons were not correctly exported to Google Earth KMZ files. (Tickets 66 and 84)
- Error "Could not handle bottom object" when adjusting bottom height after reopening a project. (Ticket 86)
- Improved placement of text showing height of buildings. (Ticket 80)
- Zooming with F3, F4, and F5 did not work (Ticket 88).
- Height adjustment with arrow keys activated after measurement and updated keyboard shortcuts. (Ticket 90)
- Crash in debug mode when closing CityModeler after editing contrast dialog. Fixed (and did not occur in release mode). (Ticket 95)
- Pressing īcī closed the project, but should switch measure mode to circle. (Ticket 96)
- MCM could not convert tiled contiguous multi band TIFF file to striped separate planes. (Ticket 98)
- Orthogonal measurements were assuming near nadir images. Some WorldView2 images are quite oblique resulting in distorted polygons in object space
when measuring orthogonally. (Ticket 103)
- Editing a project with building bottom overrides the bottom and type index settings and results in error messages. (Ticket 105)
- Crash when cancelling "adjust model" more than twice. (Ticket 106)
- Logging to file was not possible for DSM generation projects. (Ticket 107)
- Manually adjusting bottom height made matching of following building(s) worse. (Ticket 108)
- It was not possible to view the result of the RPC adjustment before accepting. Image
navigation is now added to the RPC adjustment dialog. (Ticket 113)
- Measuring in orthogonal mode while using a DSM made angles non-orthogonal. Fixed. (Ticket 103)
- Removing a building with a hole and building base resulted in error message and occassional crashes. Fixed. (Tickets 115)
- Current object can now be deleted with the Delete key on keyboard. (Ticket 116)
- Added possibility to cancel closing when there are unsaved objects. (Ticket 117)
- Small tiled multispectral TIFF image were not read correctly. Fixed (Ticket 120)
- Tiled, contiguous, multispectral TIFF image could not be zoomed in. Fixed (Ticket 121)
- Pan sharpened images could not be displayed correctly in ArcGIS and Erdas Imagine. Fixed:
photometric interpretation set to "RGB color model" and extra sample tag is defined. (Ticket 122)
- Large tiled TIFF files took a long time to display. Fixed: only visible tiles are now read. (Ticket 123)
- Output directory and file could not be chosen for pansharpened image. Fixed. (Ticket 124)
- Saving monochrome images occassionally crashed MCM. Error in extra samples tag. Fixed (Ticket 125)
- Image became black when zooming to 1:1 after zooming in or out. (Ticket 129)
- Center on last building option had no effect. (Ticket 133)
- New splash screen and documentation font using Metria's new graphical profile
- WiMap PanSharp was updated to version 1.5. (Ticket 127)
- WiMap PanSharp: Added zoom to original scale.
- WiMap PanSharp: Added definition of pixel center in the middle or top left corner. The improvement with correct pixel alignment is
quite significant, reducing color bleeding around edges.
- WiMap PanSharp: Crash when pansharpened image is not a fixed multiple of multispectral images. (Ticket 128)
- Metria CityModeler could not be opened on 64-bit Windows. (Ticket 134)
- Shapefiles can be loaded to ArcGIS Explorer without manually creating a
projection file if the output system is set to WGS-84. (Ticket 138)
- The object window did not display the measured objects. (Ticket 139)
- Google Earth now has keyboard shortcuts.
- Log file was not created. (Ticket 142)
- Could not read RPC file due to unusual line feed control characters. (Ticket 146)
- Improved matching of roof when top and bottom are measured. (Ticket 149)
- DSM generator crashed for multi spectral images. (Ticket 144)
- Link to open DBF file in project wizard did not work (Ticket 154)
