To run Metria CityModeler you need a USB dongle with a license. The USB dongle allows for flexible use of Metria CityModeler since it can be moved to different computers.
Each USB dongle has a unique license serial number, which can be found by reading the information in the About dialog. Only licenses with a valid Support Contract between Metria and ReVisitor are entitled for upgrades to new versions and defect handling of Metria CityModeler as stipulated by the Support Contract.
If a license has expired, the serial number is automatically copied to the clipboard. You just have to create an email to info@revisitor.se, right click and paste the text before sending it.
Demonstration licenses are limited to 30 days of use. Demonstration licenses have all the functionality of a full license, except that only half of the objects (randomly selected) are saved to file. If you have a demonstration license, a message will be displayed at start up and the title bar of the application will inlude "***** DEMO VERSION *****".
Only one Metria CityModeler may run on one computer. If Metria CityModeler already is running, you get this information if you try to start yet a Metria CityModeler instance:

Figure 4.1: Single instance error is shown if Metria CityModeler is already run on the computer.
[A note on Metria CityModelers version convention: A version of Metria CityModeler is defined by a major and a minor version number. Major version numbers are only changed for releases with a very substantial amount of new features and/or GUI. Minor versions are increased by one for each new release, which is not a major release. Thus version 2.10 ("two-ten") follows version 2.9. A minor release may include new features and/or bug fixes. Which changes a release includes are listed here .
