Google Earth

Metria CityModeler can show the measured buildings in Google Earth. If you have Google Earth installed on your computer, you just have to push the Google Earth button to view your measurements in Google Earth. If you have associated KMZ files with another program using MIME, that program will be launched when the Google Earth button is clicked. The color of the buildings is the same as in Metria CityModeler (see the graphics section for help on how to set colors). A file with the Google Earth model is also always saved (more).

If you have added comments to objects, they will be displayed in Google Earth.

If you measure both top and bottom of building, the buildings will be displayed in Google Earth and exported to KML with heights relative the ground. If you do not include the bottom of the buildings in your project, the buildings will have absolute heights.

Quite often there are substantial systematic displacements between Google Earth and the exported buildings. These can be corrected using object adjustments.
